Why it’s a little special

Elaborate rooms and ghostly effects turn a house tour into a mystery. Eddie Murphy's comic reactions soften some of the supernatural danger, though the backstory remains dark.

US film rating

Ghosts, corpses, a hanging image, a poisoning backstory and frightening crypt scenes. Children are trapped and threatened, with death, suicide implications and separation woven into the mystery.

Our notes are a starting point, not an age recommendation. G and PG films can still include intense moments. You know your family best.
