Toy Story 2
100%TomatometerSome things are too good to shelve.
A childhood friendship beneath the waves leaves a lifelong mark.
Marine biologist Abby returns to the Western Australian coast after her mother suffers a stroke. Being home brings back memories of diving as a child, meeting a large blue groper, and learning why her mother fought to protect their bay. The story follows Abby at different ages as love for that place becomes both a bond with her mother and a responsibility of her own.
An ocean story that links environmental care with a complicated mother-daughter relationship, supported by underwater photography and a strong sense of place.
The official US PG rating cites some thematic elements, peril and brief mild language. Diving danger, poaching and threatened wildlife may distress sensitive viewers. A parent’s stroke, aging and family grief are substantial parts of the story, which moves between childhood memories and adulthood.
Our notes are a starting point, not an age recommendation. G and PG films can still include intense moments. You know your family best.
