BIG FEELINGS
Perfect Days.
A quiet routine makes room for unexpected connections.
Hirayama cleans public toilets in Tokyo and finds satisfaction in the details of his day: a familiar song, a book, or the light through a tree. Encounters with a restless coworker, strangers and his visiting niece disturb the pattern without erasing its pleasures. Gradually, those meetings suggest a more complicated history behind the life he has chosen.
Why it’s a little special
An observant drama about the dignity of everyday work and the small things people notice when they slow down. Its patient rhythm may appeal most to older viewers.

Know the story.
Know your little people.
The official US PG rating cites some language, partial nudity and smoking. Brief communal-bathhouse nudity, cigarette use, drinking and difficult family feelings appear. Japanese dialogue requires subtitles for many US viewers, and the long, restrained story offers little conventional action.
Our notes are a starting point, not an age recommendation. G and PG films can still include intense moments. You know your family best.
