Toy Story 2
100%TomatometerSome things are too good to shelve.
A softball player defines her future on her own terms.
Katelyn Pavey grows up with a limb difference and a love of softball, developing the skill to pursue a college place. Her father supports her on the field while privately carrying guilt about the affair through which she was conceived. As a sporting setback challenges the family, Katelyn’s determination pushes them to reconsider the limits and blame they have placed on themselves.
A faith-centered sports drama that opens a discussion about disability, parental expectations and treating a young athlete as a whole person.
The official US PG rating cites thematic elements. The story discusses an affair, pregnancy, divorce and a parent’s belief that disability is divine punishment; that belief is challenged as the family works toward forgiveness. A sporting injury and uncertainty about recovery may be upsetting. Christian faith is central to the film.
